Introductory Blog Post

       Hello, my name is Kailey Franklin. I am participating in the Great Books Great Summer event, and will be a freshman at Faulkner this fall. This past school year, I acquired a job as a YMCA counselor, and I knew God was calling me to major in Elementary Education. I cannot wait to begin furthering my education at Faulkner!

   Since I was child, my nose has always been stuck in a book. I found comfort and joy in their words as so many enticing worlds were opened to me. As I grew older, I could not find the time to  read as much, but the passion for both classical literature and reading in general has always stayed in my heart. I believe Great Books will help develop my passion, love, and skills in both reading and writing.
